Local Sports for Monday May 28


Paul Allen of Emo and Jason Rostek of Dryden captured the Emo Walleye Classic.

They had a strong lead after day one, but didn't think they could hold on until the final boat weighed-in Saturday.

The pair ended the weekend with catching over 17 pounds of walleye.




For the second week in a row, Gavin Paull captured the Modified feature at Emo Speedway, holding of Dustin Wahl of Greenbush for the win.

Brady Caul in the midwest Modified and Carlee Bosma in the Street Stocks were the other winners.




Over 50 riders on hand for the first race of the season at Emo Motocross.

Dan Gavel, capturing two events in the ATV Pro and Open classes.

International Falls boys baseball team ended its regular season Friday with a 1-0 loss to Ely.

The Broncos now prepare for the Section 7AA playoffs that begin Wednesday.




Rainy River High Owls girls soccer team are NWOSSA soccer champions.

The Owls won the Single A title with 3-0 and 5-0 decisions in games played Friday in Chapleau.
