Local Sports For Monday November 26

Fort Frances Lakers snapped a three game losing skid Saturday with a 4-2 win over the Duluth Clydesdales at the Memorial Sport Centre.
  Colton Spicer, Alex Bruess, Jordan Christianson and Jon Carlson scored for the Lakers who remain in fifth spot in the SIJHL standings.       Fort Frances Muskies boys hockey team captured a tournament in Dryden, beating the host Eagles 3-1 in the final game Saturday.       Fort Frances Muskies girls hockey team came away winless at a tournament in Buffalo, Minnesota.   The Muskies lost their opener to Totino-Grace 6-3 Friday.   Saturday they lost to Red Wing 5-4 before suffering a 12-0 defeat to the host Buffalo.


International Falls Broncos girls hockey team is on the ice tonight to face the Lake of the Woods Bears out of Baudette.

The Broncos are 1 and 1 on the season while the Bears are looking for their first win.

Game time at Bronco Arena is 7:30 p.m.



Several members of the Borderland Skating Club come away with medals from an event in Winnipeg.

Jillian Bobczynski picked up a couple of first place finishes then combined with Sophie Potvin-Begin for silver in a team award.

Potvin-Begin also earned first in the Gold Interpretative skate and a third in the combined Star Free Skate.

Alana Eldride earned a first and two silvers in the Junior Bronze division.

Jamie Spencer, Brianna Eldridge, Kaylyn Levesque and Olivia Eldridge other skaters also earning medals in the weekend event.
