Local Sports For Thursday November 22

Rainy River Owls seniors girls basketball team opens play today at the all-Ontario "A" provincial championship in St. Catherines.
  The Owls are on the court this morning against Rideau of Ottawa.       A pair of hat tricks from Allison Brown and Sydney Radigan help pace Fit Lifestyles and Conditioning to a 10-2 win over Cater 2 U in the Borderland Indoor Women's Soccer League.   In other action, Heather Wright scored twice to help Wright Physiotherapy upset Peter's Plumbing and Heating 6-2.   Laureen Peters had a pair of goals as Boston Pizza won its sixth straight with a 4-0 decision over Leon's Fort Frances.


Rainy River Owls dropped their first game at the all-Ontario division A senior girls basketball championship in St. Catherines.

The Owls fell 48-24 to Rideau out of Ottawa.

Rainy River faces another tough opponent in Welland's Jean Vanier this afternoon.
      Annalist Hayes did all of the scoring in Lakewood Tire Eagles 5-3 win over Kaemingh Esso in a pee-wee game of the Fort Frances Girls Women's Hockey Association.   Maighyn DeGagne with a pair and Khali DeGagne replied for Esso.   In in a bantam game, Energy Fitness Wild trimmed M&M Meats 3-2.   Rylee Redford with two and Myla Angus scored for the Wild   Lauren Hamilton and Emily Bird countered for M and M.       It's week 10 of the Fort Frances Women's Volleyball League.   Notorious D-I-G still holding down top spot entering tonight's play.   Gillons Insurance Cougars are five points back.   Four other teams, Bump it Up, Scared Hitless, Kiss My Pass and Just Play - are farther back, but in a tight battle for third.
