Local Sports For Friday February 22

Fort Frances Muskies girls hockey dropped its first game at the inaugural Female World Sport School Challenge taking place in Winnipeg.

Muskies lost to St. Mary's Academy 4-0.

They'll play later today against a school from Okanagan, B.C.



International Falls Broncos boys hockey team has advanced to the semi-finals of the section 7A championships with a 5-3 win over Virginia, on the strength of a four-goal performance by Lucas Debenedet.

The Broncos will now face Duluth-Denfeld tomorrow afternoon in Hibbing.



The Broncos boys basketball team was also victorious, defeated Aitkin 64-47.




Fort Frances Muskies girls team is 0-2 at the Female World Sport School Challenge in Winnipeg.

The Muskies lost 6-0 to  Okanagan Hockey Academy of British Columbia this morning.

They will play their final preliminary game tonight against Edge School for Athletes of Alberta.



Fort Frances Lakers are on home ice tonight in a game against Dryden.

It's a rematch from Wednesday's game, won by the Lakers in Dryden.
