Local Sports For Wednesday February 13

Fort Frances Lakers are back alone in second spot, following a 4-3 win on home ice last night against the Minnesota Iron Rangers.

Colton Spicer scored the game winner on a power play with just over a minute to play.

Tyler Brodersen, Brendan Cawston had Fort's other goals.



On the high school schedule, the International Falls Broncos boys hockey team was dumped by Roseau 8-0.

The Broncos boys basketball team defeated Mountain-Iron Buhl  70-57.

Ben Humbert leading the way with 24 points.

The girls team beat Littlefork-Big Falls, 65-43.



A member of the Rainy River Voyageurs men's basketball team has been named player of the week in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference's northern division.

It's Jeff Romeus' third award this season.

He averaged 20 points per game in two games last week, and currently sits second overall in league scoring.

Meatime, the Voyageurs basketball teams are in action tonight, facing Hibbing.

Women kick it off at 6 p.m., followed by the men at 8 p.m.
