Local Sports For Friday December 19

The brooms were out in Kenora for the Fort Frances Muskies court teams.

The boys basketball and girls volleyball teams earned wins in all four matches against the Beaver Brae Broncos.

The senior boys basketball team won 59-42 while the juniors earned at 54-42 victory over the Broncos.

Both the senior girls and junior girls volleyball teams gain wins in a 3-set sweep.



International Falls Broncos girls basketball teams had its 4-game win streak snapped in a 70-54 loss to Bemidji.

Teagan Anderson led the Broncos with 13 points while Maddie Filipak added 10.



The Fort Frances Lakers and the Dryden Ice Dogs kick off a home and home series at the Ice For Kids Arena tonight.

The SIJHL leading Lakers have beaten the Dogs in the last five matches since losing in a shoot out in the series opener back in September.

Dryden, meantime, is sitting fourth in the standings, four points back of Thunder Bay.



Over in International Falls, the Broncos hockey teams have home games against Thief River Falls.

The girls game begins at 5:30 p.m. with the boys following at 7:30 p.m. Bronco arena.

The boys swim team is in Virginia for a meet.

And the boys basketball team faces Evelth-Gilbert at Falls High School beginning at 7:15 p.m.



Rainy River Voyageurs men's and women's basketball teams are in tournament action in Brainerd.



Fort Frances Muskies girls hockey team travels to Silver Bay tomorrow.
