Local Sports For Wednesday December 4

Fort Frances Muskies girls hockey team has laid claim to the first installment in the battle of the border, defeating the International Falls Broncos 6-2 at the Ice For Kids Arena last night.

Shilo Beck led the Muskies with a pair of goals.

Hailey Clendenning, Katie Sinclair, Kaily Greengrass and Shelby Tymkin added singles.

Kate Parsons stopped 27 of 29 shots to get the win in net.

The two teams will meet again in late January.



Fort Frances Muskies boys hockey team was shut out in Kenora, losing 5-0 to the Beaver Brae Broncos.

It leaves the Muskies in a first place tie with the Broncos, Dryden and Thomas Aquinas with records of 3 and 1.

The team heads to a tournament in Brandon tomorrow.



International Falls Broncos boys basketball fell 78-64 to Bemidji.

Ben Humbert led with 28 points.
