Local Sports For Friday November 30

Fort Frances Muskies girls hockey team showed its superiority last night in blanking the Queen Elizabeth Warriors of Sioux Lookout  7-0.

The Muskies also out shot their opponents 100 to 4 to improve to 3 and oh in NorWossa league play.

Jessica Coran led the scoring with two goals.

Shilo Beck, Hailey Clendenning, Rylee Redford, Kaily Greengrass and Amy Penner added the others.



Fort Frances Muskies girls curling team in action last night, winning 8-4.

Their opponents were not provided.



It's a close race for the top in the Fort Frances Women's Volleyball league.

Alliance picked up 4 out of a possible 6 points in games last night to stay a single point ahead of "By the Ball" who picked up 3 points.

Gillion's Cougars also earned 3 points to stay two points back in third.

Scared Hitless was the big mover of the night, gaining five points to take over fourth spot.



Fort Frances Canadians midget AA team host its a mini tournament this weekend.

The Canadians play their first game tonight at the Memorial Sports Centre against Emo beginning at 7 p.m.

Teams from Duluth and Sioux Lookout are also participating.

The team is also having a bake sale in lobby tomorrow morning beginning at 10 a.m.



Fort Frances Lakers conclude a three-game series with the Wisconsin Wilderness tonight at the Ice for Kids Arena.

Lakers won the first two.

It's also the start of a three game homestand for the Lakers who play Dryden tomorrow.
