A pair of goals from Kevin Kurm and Mason Meyer sparked the Fort Frances Lakers to a 5-3 win over the Thunder Bay North Stars in an SIJHL game played last night at the Ice for Kids Arena.
The win ended a 2-game losing skid and increased the Lakers margin on the second place Minnesota to 11 points.
Bryce Lipinski also scored for the Lakers.
Meantime, the Lakers have inched up a spot in the weekly Canadian Junior Hockey League rankings.
The Lakers are now slotted fifth overall, up a spot from last week.
