Local Sports For Tuesday December 31

A pair of goals each from Sarah Milling and Hailey Clendenning paced the Fort Frances Muskies girls hockey team to a 6-1 win over Northern Lights to open play at the Schwan Cup in Minneapolis.

Amber Jourdain and Katie Sinclair rounded out the scoring while Calie Clendenning faced just 17 shots in net for the win.

The Muskies face East Ridge this afternoon with a win sending them into tomorrow's final in the Red Division.

Meantime, Amber Tilander had an eight point night as the International Falls Broncos girls team blitzed Worthington 19-0 in its tournament opener, out-shooting their opponents 67-2.

The Broncos scored 13 times in the second period with Tilander finishing with three goals and 5 assists.

Lexi Erickson also notched a hat trick while Sydney Raboin, Jenna Anderson, Tessa Walls and Amy Auran each scored twice.

Raboin also recorded 5 assists.



The Broncos face St. Francis tonight.
