The Chris Silver rink has earned a trip to the provincial bantam curling championships.

The Fort Frances foursome took a regional event in Sioux Lookout going undefeated.

They advanced to the provincials for a second time, taking place this time at the end of January in Sault Ste. Marie.

Hailey Beaudry narrowly missing making it a Fort Frances sweep, losing out in the final tie-breaker on the girls side on the final end and final rock to Cassidy Romyn of Sioux Lookout.

Beaudry's rink has a second change to make the provincial at a qualifier taking place in Stratton beginning January 10.



Fort Frances Muskies girls hockey team defeated Dryden 2-1 in a shoot out to win a tournament in Kenora.

Fort Frances Canadians reached the consolation final of a tournament in Minnetonka, Minnesota, against losing 7-1 Lakeland.




International Falls Broncos girls hockey team went undefeated on the weekend, tying St. Francis/North Branch 1-1 Friday before beating Long-Prairie-Grey Eagle 3-0 on Saturday.



The Broncos boys hockey team dropped both its games, losing 1-nothing to Virginia Friday and 5-1 Saturday to Duluth Marshall.



Rainy River Voyageurs women's hockey team dropped a pair to Minot, by identical 4-3 scores.

Taylor Durocher with a pair and Taylor Dixon scored for Rainy River in yesterday's game.



On the court, the International Falls Broncos girls basketball team defeated Virginia Friday 56-46.



The Broncos boys basketball team split game, beating Ely Friday 72-59, but fell 75-28 to Esko on Saturday.



Rainy River Voyageurs women's basketball team split its weekend games, beating Riverland Friday 59-44, but losing to Anoka-Ramsey 68-34.

The men lost to 89-73 to Riverland and 97-80 Anoka-Ramsey.
