Local Sports For Friday December 6

Fort Frances Lakers dropped a rare home game, losing 5-2 to the visiting Minnesota Iron Rangers at the Ice For Kids Arena last night .

Recent addition Jason Berube and Kevin Kurm scored for the Lakers.

It's just the second loss on home ice this season for Fort Frances who travels to Spooner tomorrow to face the Wisconsin Wilderness.



Fort Frances Muskies boys team dropped its opening game at a tournament in Brandon, falling 6-2 to Neepewa.

They face Sturgeon Heights this afternoon at 2 p.m.



The Muskies girls hockey team, meantime, is also in tournament play this weekend, in Portage La Praire, Manitoba.

They open with a game this afternoon against St. Mary's.



Tournament play as well for the Fort Frances Canadians midget AA team.

They're in Duluth for the Spirit of Duluth tournament.

They're on the ice at 11 this morning, facing Stillwater, in their first contest.



Last night, International Falls Broncos boys basketball team lost 61-48 to Hibbing.

Ben Humbert with 19 for the Broncos.

Cole Miggins the other other Bronco in double digits with 13.

Tonight, the Broncos girls basketball team will open its season with a home game against Eveleth-Gilbert.
