Local Sports For Tuesday December 3

Fort Frances Muskies girls hockey team continues to use opposing netminders are target practice.

The Muskies fired 62 shots in defeating the Lake of the Woods Bears 10-1 in a game played last night in Baudette.

Shelby Tymkin led with a pair of goals with singles coming from Rachel Jean, Kaily Greengrass, Hailey Clendenning, Sara Milling, Amber Jourdain, Amy Penner, Katie Sinclair, and Claire Sandelovich.

Calie Clendenning got the win in goal facing just 10 shots.

Muskies faces International Falls tonight on home ice.

The boys team, meantime, travels to Kenora for a NorWossa league game.



Fort Frances Lakers Mason Meyer has been named a co-winner of the SIJHL player of the week award with Zach Grzelewski of the Thunder Bay North Stars.

Meyer, who won the award a week ago, racked up 13 points last week.

Meantime, Meyer's team remains in 4th spot in the Canadian Junior Hockey League top twenty.

That's unchanged from last week.
