Local Sports For Tuesday January 7

A former member of the Thunder Bay Kings triple-A midget program has been acquired by the Fort Frances Lakers.

Ryan McQueen comes to the team in a trade with Neepawa of the Manitoba Junior league where he had 3 goals in 13 games.

At 6-1, 180 pounds, McQueen adds some size up front and likely be in the line-up for tomorrow's game against the Minnesota Iron Rangers.



Meantime, the Lakers have maintained their position in the first edition of the Canadian Junior Hockey League top 20 for 2014.

Winners of their last six, the SIJHL-leading Lakers remain firm from their final listing of 2013 of fifth overall.



The second half of the NorWOSSA hockey season gets underway tonight for the Fort Frances Muskies boys hockey team.

The Muskies face Kenora's Thomas Aquinas Saints - 7:15 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena.

The Muskies girls team is in exhibition play in the 52 Canadian Rink against the Lake of the Woods Bears out of Baudette.

Game time is 7p.m.
