Local Sports For Wednesday January 22

The SIJHL kicks off its annual showcase today in Spooner, Wisconsin.

All six teams are playing a series of games today and tomorrow before a number of College and NHL scouts.

The league leading Fort Frances Lakers plays their first game this afternoon against  the English River Miners.



International Falls Broncos girls hockey team dropped a 5-1 decision to Grand Rapids.

On the court, the Broncos girls basketball team dominated Lake of the Woods 85-21.

The Broncos got scoring from every player with Cassie Tomzsak and Teagan Anderson each notching 16.

The boys team dropped a 54-52 decision to Eveleth-Gilbert.

Ben Humbert led with 22 points.



Rainy River Voyageurs basketball teams on home court today in a make-up from last week's cancellations with Northland.

The women play at 6 p.m. while the men's game is at 8 p.m.
