Local Sports For Wednesday January 15

A second straight loss for the Fort Frances Lakers.

The Lakers were beaten 5-2 by the Thunder Bay North Stars in Thunder Bay.

Bryce Lipinski and Bryson Jaspers provided the scoring.

It's the first time this this season the Lakers have dropped consecutive games.

They are in Hoyt Lakes tonight against the Minnesota Iron Rangers.



International Falls Broncos girls hockey team won its fifth straight with a 10-2 win over the Lake of the Woods Bears.



The Broncos boys hockey team got on the scoreboard for the first time in four games, but lost 5-2 to Eveleth-Gilbert.

On the court, the Broncos girls basketball team was stopped by Warroad 70-62.



The boys basketball team won its second straight beating Hibbing 83-80

Cody Hallin and Ben Humbert each chipped in 20 points.



International Falls native Ben Gordon has been named player of the week in the Central Hockey League.

Playing for the Tulsa Oilers, it's the time this season Gordon's received the award.
