Local Sports for Thurdsay September 30

Fort Frances Muskies volleyball teams both earned victories in Kenora yesterday.

The seniors boys team defeated the Beaver Brae Broncos in five sets, winning the first two, before losing the next two and battling for a 15-7 win in the deciding set.

The junior boys also needed five sets in their victory over Beaver Brae, losing the first, winning the next two before Kenora tied the game in the fourth.

Muskies pulled out the victory with a 15-7 win in the final set.

On the basketball court, the Muskies junior girls basketball team defeated Kenora 27-19 with Alanah Walsh leading the way with six points.

The Muskie Senior Girls Basketball team defeated Beaver Brae Broncos 34-15.

Chelsea Hill led the scoring with 11 points and Erika Moffitt added 9 points.




Rainy River Voyageurs women's volleyball team defeated Northland in five-sets.

The Voyageurs dropping the opening set, 27-25, but took the next two 28-26 and 25-21.

Northland tied the game in the fourth set before the Voyageurs earned the victory with a 17-15 score in the deciding set.
