Local Sports for Tuesday September 28

Two members of the Rainy River Voyageurs women's volleyball team have received recognition from the Minnesota College Athletic Conference.

Danika Stelton was named Setter of the Week in the northern Division while Haley Gates earned All-Round player of the week honours.

Stelton averaged over 8 assists per game last week while Gates had 45 kills and 16 serve aces.



Fort Frances Lakers close out the month of September with another home game tonight at the Ice for Kids Arena

The Lakers face the Dryden Ice Dogs for the second time this month.

Dogs edge the Lakers 1-0 last Tuesday.



On the high school calender, Rainy River Owls court teams are home to Ignace.

The International Falls Broncos girls' volleyball team is home to Virginia

Broncos cross-country teams are in Ely.
