Local Sports for Wednesday October 13

Falls High School girls swim teams were beaten in head-to-head competition in Warroad.

Paige Herzig was the bright spot for the team, earning two individual wins in the 50 free and 100 breast stroke and two more as part of the 200 yard medley and 200 freestyle relay teams.

Courtney Klow was the only other Bronco swimmer to pick up a win in the 100 yard backstroke.



International Falls Broncos girls volleyball team was bounced in straight sets by Grand Rapids in the Iron Range Conference quarter-finals.

Scores were 25-17, 25-15, 25-19.



On the high school schedule today, the Fort Frances Muskies court teams travel to Dryden for NORWOSSA action.

The Rainy River Owls court teams are home to Pelican Falls with games beginning at 1 p.m.

Atikokan Voyageurs are home to Sioux Lookout.

Rainy River Voyageurs women's volleyball team travels to Brainard to face Central Lakes in its final league game.



Fort Frances Lakers begin a three-game road trip with a game in Dryden tonight.

The Lakers are searching for their first road win of the season.
