Local Sports for Friday May 13

Area High school badminton players have been relegated to the b-side of the all-Ontario high school championships in Toronto

Courtney Hanson of Rainy River won her opening match but dropped her next to fall to the B-side.

Robert Stevens and Spencer Pearce of Fort Frances lost their opening draw in boy's doubles, but won the next in the B-side.

Play resumes this morning.



International Falls Broncos boys baseball team picked up its second straight win with a 4-3 decision over Greenway.



In little league action in International Falls, Meyer's Sports doubled up Wherley's in boys major A 10-5.

Mannco Trucking held on for a 14-12 win over Coca Cola in girls Major B softball.



Falls High School track teams captured titles at a meet on their home field yesterday.

Jake Jensen led the boys team winning four events.

Alicia Hendrickson and Savannah Olson each picked up a pair of wins for the girls team.



Fort Frances Muskies soccer teams are in tournament play this weekend.

The girls team is hosting a five team tournament.

The boys travel for an event in Kenora.



More recognition for members of Rainy River Community College's ball teams.

Cateline Fafard was a second team selection to the Minnesota College Athletic Conference's all-State all-star team in women's softball.

J.C Crane and Michael Dickerson were named to the MCAC all-state and northern division's all-star teams in men's baseball.
