Local Sports for Wednesday May 11

The second tournament of the NorWossa soccer season takes place in Kenora today.

The Fort Frances Muskies boys team enters undefeated with one win and a tie.

The girls team will be looking for its first win after earning a draw and a loss in last week's play.



Falls High School track teams set several meet records after finishing second in both the girls and boys divisions of the Golden Bear Invitational in Virginia.

Jake Jenson was a double winner on the boys side with first place finishes in the 100 metre dash and pole vault.

Alicia Hendrickson set a girls meet records with her victories in the long jump and pole vault.

Savanah Olson had a record-setting victory in the shot put while Breanna Shofner set a new mark in the 200 metre dash.



Scores from yesterday's International Falls Little League say Wherley defeat Energy Fitness Centre 10-6 in boys major A.

Super One edged Fort Frances Kiwanis 7-6 in boys major B.

And TruStar got by Dairy Queen 10-8 in a girls major A softball game.



The Fort Frances Lakers are getting prepared for another season in the Superior International Junior Hockey League.

The club has announced it will host a three-day summer identification camp beginning July 15




Two members of the Rainy River Voyageurs women's softball team have earned all-star berths in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference's northern division.

Pitcher Cateline Fafard was selected to the first team while Brenley Anderson of Rainy River was a second-team selection.
