Local Sports for Friday May 20

The Barwick Blue Knights scored runs in bunches last night.

The Knight won their second straight in the Rainy River District Fastball League with a 25-0 pasting of Northwest Bay.

Elsewhere, Stratton improved to 2-and-0 with a 17-7 win over Big Island.

The Big Grassy Lighting is also 2 and 0 following a 7-2 win over Rainy River.

Manitou edged Sight and Sound 11-10.

While the Big Grassy Braves beat the Warriors 3-1.



Little League action in the Falls saw Meyer's Sports beat Energy Fitness Centre 11-5.

Fort Frances Kiwanis edged Elks Lodge 13-12.

In girls softball Mannco Trucking outscored Coca-Cola 17-16.




Falls High School junior girls track team dominated the A-division at the Iron Range Conference meet.

Savannah Olson and Lexi Olson led with a pair of event wins.

Relay teams also scored victories four different races.

The boys team placed third in a-division and 7th in the b-side with Jakob Ettestad winning the A-side pole vault and Cody Tatsak winning the B-division long jump.



Rainy River Owls girls soccer team lost 2-0 to Kenora's Thomas Aquanis in the NorWossa A championship final.
