Local Sports for Tuesday May 17

The season for the Rainy River District Fastball League begins today.

The number of teams, ten, remains the same as last year except that the Sabaskong Cubs have been replaced by a team called Beef's Warriors.



Little league action from International Falls yesterday saw Wherley's defeat Northern Lumber 12-2.

Fort Frances Kiwanis and Dominos ended their game tied 12-12.



A former member of the International Falls Broncos boys hockey team was a selection in the United States Hockey League draft.

Matt Youso was selected in the 13th round by Dubuque.

Youso played for Owatonna of the North American Hockey league last season.
