Local Sports for Friday May 27

Stratton Eagles are now the only unbeaten team in the Rainy River District Fastball League.

Mark Jodoin smacked a pair of homers to power the Eagles to a 21-14 win over Manitou to take sole possession of first place.

Elsewhere, the Big Grassy Lightning lost their first of the year, 5-2 to Barwick.

Beefs Warriors defeated Sight and Sound 8-3.

Rainy River Royals beat out the Northwest Bay Chiefs 11-6.

The Big Grassy Braves were 14-4 winners over the Big Island Huskies.



International Falls Broncos boys baseball team paid tribute to graduating seniors and their parents, then went out an beat visiting Roseau 6-5.

Mike Miser scored the winning run from first on a Gunnar Anderson triple in the bottom of the ninth.

The Broncos close out their regular season tonight in Deer River.



In league league play in the falls, Meyers Sports defeated Energy Fitness Centre 22-8.

Border State Bank edged Dairy Queen 10-9 in a girls softball game.

Games involved major B boys and girls had to be postponed.
