Local Sports for Wednesday May 18

The final regular season tournament for the Fort Frances Muskies soccer teams take place today in Dryden.

Both the boys and girls teams start with games against the host Eagles this morning.

The boys team is one point up on Kenora for first while the girls team is looking for its first win of the NorWossa season.



International Falls Broncos boys baseball team defeated Cook 13-3 in a game shortened after six innings.

Jodan Walls had a solo home run in the game.

The Broncos play Mountain Iron Buhl tonight.



In little league play in the Falls, Meyer's Sports beat out Northern Lumber 7-5.

Super One defeated Elks Lodge 13-3.

In girls softball, Dairy Queen out slugged Border State Bank 17-16.

Cine 5 beat Mannco Trucking 13-6.



Falls High School track teams competed at the Iron Range Conference meet in Hibbing

Shawn Filipiak in the high jump and Jake Jenson in the pole vault captured wins for the boys team who finish fourth overall.

The girls team placed second with Alicia Hendrickson earning wins in the pole vault, long jump and as a member of the four by 100 metre relay team.

Savannah Olson won shot put.
