Local Sports for Thursday May 5

Tough day for Taylor Whitehead of Fort Frances at the junior badminton championships in Richmond, B.C.

Whitehead with Andre Inthavong of Saskatchewan lost their opening game in boys doubles.

Then, teaming up with Dawn Song of Alberta, they drop their first match in mixed doubles.

The 12-year-old resumes action in single play today.




Rainy River Voyageurs men's baseball team swept a double header against Vermilion Community College 7-1 and 10-4.

It improves their record to 5 and 8.



International Falls Little League action saw Meyers Sports win its second straight in Major A with a 10-0 win over Energy Fitness Centre.

Super One blanked Dominos 12-nothing in Major B.



NorWossa soccer kicked off yesterday with a season opening tournament at Fort Frances High School.

However, we only have one score to pass on.

The Muskies beat Beaver Brae of Kenora 3-1 in boys action.
