Local Sports for Monday May 16

Fort Frances Muskies boys soccer team won the b-side of a tournament in Kenora beating Crocus Plains of Brandon 3-zip

Anniss Seid with two and Colton Spicer found the twine for the Muskies.

Muskies also defeated Dryden 2-nil and Miles Mac of Winnipeg 1-zip while dropping a 2-1 decision to Thomas Aquinas of Kenora.



Muskies girls soccer team wrapped up a tournament at home with a 2-1 win over Thunder Bay's Hammarskjold Saturday.

The Muskies also earned a 1-1 draw with Hanover and a 2-1 win over Dryden.



Area badminton players had their runs at the all-Ontario high school championships end with b-side losses on Friday.

Courtney Hanson of Rainy River was ousted in girls singles.

Robert Stevens and Spencer Pearce of Fort Frances were eliminated in boys doubles.



International Falls Broncos boys baseball team split games over the weekend, beating Babbit-Embarras 3-2 and losing 3-1 to Ely.

The junior varsity team beat Babbit-Embarras 14-7 and lost 1-nothing to Ely.



Falls High School golf team finished second at the Northern-Quarry Invitational at Giants Ridge near Biwabik.

Glenn Walls shot a two-round score of 149 to finish second overall.




Falls High School girls track team finished third at the Lynae Morrow meet in Hibbing Friday.

Savannah Olson picked up wins in the shot put and discuss while Alicia Hendrickson won the pole vault.

The 4 by 100 relay team also earn a win.
