Local Sports For Thursday August 30


International Falls Broncos girls volleyball team won its home opener, a straight 3-set win over Two Harbours - 25-13, 25-17 and 25-15

Reva Renollet led with 13 digs, 17 assists, 6 kills and 3 ace serves.




Rainy River Voyageurs women's volleyball team won just one set in three matches played at the Northland Quad tournament in Thief River Falls.

The Voyageurs fell 3-0 to Northland, 3-0 to North Dakota's Mayville State and 3-1 to Lake Region of North Dakota.




Players and teams are being sought for this year's Fort Frances Women's Volleyball League.

The season will begin September 20, playing at Fort Frances High School.

Cost is $250 per team.

Fort Frances Lakers begin their training camp today.

Players will play five scrimmages over the course of the next four days, beginning tonight at 7 p.m.

The Lakers have one goalie, 3 defenceman and 9 forwards signed heading into the camp.
