Local Sports for Tuesday July 24


Boston Pizza continues its winning streak in the Borderland Soccer League.

Laureen Peters scored three times and Adrienne Smith added two more as Boston blanked Taggs Source for Sports 5-0.

It's B.P.'s 16th straight win.

In the other game, Jessica Caul had a hattrick in the La Place Rendez-Vous  Voyageurs 4-1 win over Al's Racquet Stringing.

It's the Voyageurs first win of the season.




Meantime, a joint squad of the league's women's players went 1 and 2 at a tournament in Kenora on the week.

The team lost 3-0 to Stonewall, Manitoba and 7-5 to MC United of Kenora before earning a 6-1 decision over the Kenora Rush.




Men's teams in the Borderland Soccer League are entering their final week of play, pending the potential of any make-up games.

Manitou Forest Products plays Pharmasave.

International Travel Services is up against the La Place Rendez-Vous  Voyageurs.





First round of the Rainy River District Fastball League's double-knock playoffs goes tonight.

Couchiching faces Northwest Bay.
