Local Sports For Thursday October 11

Fort Frances Muskies scored three wins on the court yesterday.

Senior Boys volleyball team improved to 2 and 2 with a 3-set sweep of Beaver Brae of Kenora.

The junior boys team is also 2 and 2 and beating Kenora in four sets.

The junior girls basketball team won its third of the year, beating the Broncos 38-29.

The senior girls basketball team lost 35-19.




Borderland Women's Indoor Soccer League kicked off play last night.

Tanya Hughes scored three times while Amy Wilson-Hands got the shutout as Team Black blanked Team Pink 4-0.

Jessica Caul notched a hat trick in Team Red's 8-1 win over Team Blue.

Four players earned the shutout in Team Purple's 4-nil win over Team White.



Twenty-one teams representing Grade 4, 5 and 6 classes in Fort Frances played over one-hundred games at a junior soccer tournament hosted by St. Francis School.

No scores were kept, but organizers congratulate all teams for their excellent play and good sportsmanship.
