Local Sports For Thursday August 15

Manitou Forest Products and Taggs Source for Sports have taken the consolation finals for the Borderland Soccer League.

Kyle Herr booted three goals in helped Manitou to a 6-2 win over the La Place Rendez Vous Voyageurs.

Chris Faragher, Chris Sinclair and Ahamadou Idrissou had the others.

Tyler Ruppenstein and Jacob Bolzan replied for the Voyageurs

In the women's division, Taggs doubled up  Al's Racquet Stringing 4-2

Courtney Roach, Sara Roach, Rebecca Selman and Wynonna Kavanaugh scoring for Taggs.

Nina Barnard netting both for Al's.

Champions will be crowned in the Borderland Soccer League tonight with the top four teams from the  regular season doing battle.

International Travel Services takes on Senior Pharmasave for the men's title.

The La Place Rendez Vous Voyageurs under 18 team facing Boston Pizza for the women's crown.



Emo's Christopher Leek placed fifth in the WISSOTA modifed feature at Grand Rapids Speedway.

It's now 4th in driver standings at the Minnesota track.



Four teams will play in tonight's men's fastball league playoffs, but only two will continue on.

Manitou takes on Stratton with Sight and Sound facing Beefs Warriors.

Winners will play each other next Tuesday for the right to play in a semi-final contest.



Playoffs in the Rainy River District women's fastball league continue with one game on the schedule.

The Lynx face the Sabaskong.

A game between Red Gut and Couchiching has been postponed.



It's a special night of go-karting in Emo tonight.

Members of the Borderland Kart Club will be hold their race events tonight to coincide with the fair.

Racing begins at 7 p.m.
