Local Sports For Tuesday July 23

Team Lynx stopped the league leading Red Gut Babes' four-game win streak, 19-18 in a Rainy River District Women's Fastball league game

The Lynx moved into third place with the win.

Couchiching Lady Raiders took sole possession of second with a 26-9 win over the Sabaskong Cougars.



International Travel Services took over first place in the men's division of the Borderland Soccer League with a 2-0 win over Senior Pharmasave.

Maxwell Williams and Cameron Gobeil scored for I-T-S who sit a point up on the Seniors.

Elsewhere, scoring leader Ahamadou Idrisou scored twice at Manitou Forest Products edged the junior Pharmasave squad 3-2.

Brandon Sinclair also scored for Manitou.

Lucas Hudson and Kevin Metke for Pharmasave.



The La Place Rendez-Vous Voyageurs will look to make it 12 games in a row without a loss as they face Al's Racquet Stringing in a women's division game of the Borderland Soccer League.

The Voyageurs are six points up on Boston Pizza who face Taggs Source for Sports in the the night's other game.




Former Fort Frances native Duncan Keith is among those who have been invited to Canada's Olympic training camp

He was also part of the 2010 gold medal team.
