Local Sports For Wednesday August 21

The Big Grassy Braves after back in the final of the Rainy River District Fastball League championship.

The defending champs advanced with 15-0 victory over Barwick.

They'll now await the winner between the Knights and Sight and Sound with the Wolves reaching the second semi-final game by beating Manitou 3-1.



Registration for the Fort Frances junior football team will take place tonight.

It's open to any student, boy or girl, attending grade 7 or 8.

Sign up at Muskie field at 6 p.m. and costs $140 to play.

Youngsters must bring their birth certificate and health card.



A couple of bass fishing tournament go this weekend.

Both the International Falls Bass Championship and the Morson Bass International are still accepting entries.

Fee to the Morson event is $400.

The Falls tournament is $500 U.S.

Entry forms can be found on the tournament's websites.




Indoor football is coming to Bemidji.

The city has landed an expansion franchise in the Indoor Football League.

The yet to be named team will play in Bemidji's Sanford Centre beginning next February

The league, now with 10 teams, has been in existence since 2009.
