Local Sports For Thursday August 8

International Travel Services has captured the regular season crown in the Borderland Soccer League's men's decision, beating Senior Pharmasave 3-1

Cameron Gobeil scored twice with Lucas Koomans added the other for ITS.

Jeremy Nussbaumer replied for the Seniors.

Ahamadou Idrissou secured the men's scoring title by booting 5 goals in Manitou Forest Products 7-2 win over La Place Rendez-Vous Voyageurs.

Idrissou finishes the season with 18 goals.

Cole Tymkin and Benedict von Holtzendorff also replied for Manitou.

Connor Bujold scored both for the Voyageurs.

Playoffs in the men's division begin tonight.

The final game in the women's division also takes place with first place on the line.

Boston Pizza takes on the La Place Rendez-Vous Voyageurs with both teams tied for first.



Sight and Sound Wolves again represent the Rainy River District Fastball League at the North American Fast Pitch World Series in Des Moines, Iowa.

They play their first game this morning in the A-Major division against the Tulsa, Oklahoma, Gray Sox.



A team from International Falls begins a challenge today for the State VFW baseball title in Ely.

The Falls faces Hutchinson this morning to open the 10-team tournament.
