Local Sports For Friday February 14

Just a single championship title for the Fort Frances Muskies at yesterday's NorWossa finals in Fort Frances.

The junior boys basketball team capped its season with a 63-34 win over Kenora's Beaver Brae Broncos.

The seniors boys team beat Kenora 44-43 in the semi-finals, but fell 92-50 to Dryden in the final.

The senior girls volleyball team swept Kenora 3-0 in the semis, but lost 3-0 to Dryden in the final.

The junior girls, who had earned a bye to their finals, were beating in four sets by Dryden.



Scared Hitless remains in first in the Fort Frances Women's Volleyball league despite having a night off.

The team has 67 points to the Alliance 66.

Both teams were off due to the NorWossa championships taking over Fort High.

Fourth-place Notorious D.I.G. did pick up four points in games at St. Michael's School to move within six points of the leaders.



Fort Frances Lakers entertain the Minnesota Iron Rangers in the start of a home-and-home series.

Tonight's game is at the Ice For Kids Arena before the teams travel to Hoyt Lakes for game 2.




International Falls Broncos girls basketball team puts its 17 and 4 record on the line as it hosts Duluth's Marshall School - 7:15 p.m. at Falls High.

The boys basketball team is at Virginia to play Aitkin.

Last night, the Broncos boys hockey team ended its regular season with an 8-1 win over Ely-Northeast Range.



Rainy River Voyageurs basketball teams have a pair of games this weekend, first tonight in Ely against Vermilion College.

Tomorrow they are home to Mesabi Range.
