Local Sports For Wednesday February 19

A perfect regular season for the Fort Frances Muskies girls hockey.

They edged Red Lake 3-2 in the final game to finish with a 15 and 0 win-loss record.

Katie Sinclair, Jessica Coran and Hailey Clendenning provided the scoring.

Playoffs are to start this weekend.



International Falls Broncos boys hockey team has advanced to the next round of the Section 7A championship with a 5-2 win over Greenway.

Jakob Ettestad and Clay Bergstrom each scored twice with Jakob Eide adding the other.

The Broncos now face Hermantown Thursday.



The Broncos girls basketball team suffers just its fifth loss of the season, dropping a 67-61 decision to North Woods.



International Falls native Ben Gordon has been named player of the week in the Central Hockey League for a third time this season.

The member of the Tulsa Oilers had six goals and 4 assists in four games last week.



Fort Frances Lakers conclude their regular season match up with the Dryden Ice Dog tonight.

The Lakers have won 9 straight meetings since an initial lost back in September.

The game is being played tonight at the Couchiching First Nations Arena.



A member of the Rainy River Voyageurs women's basketball team has been honoured as the MCAC player of the week in the northern division.

Florida's Roneisha Jordan average 27.5 points and 13.5 rebounds in two games on the weekend.

Tonight the ladies face Hibbing - 6 p.m. at the College, followed by the men's game at 8 p.m.



Women's indoor soccer tonight sees the Boston Pizza Ball Blasters facing the Cater 2 U Queens in the early game.

First place Main Street Mayhem are up against the Wright Physiotherapy Queens.
