Local Sports For Friday February 21

An appeal has been launched by Fort Frances Youth Soccer for coaches for this season.

The organization now has five coaches confirmed for its squirt division, but only one or two for its other divisions and none for one of its older age divisions.

Officials says the number of teams will be based on the number of coaches.

Those interested in helping out can contact officials through their Facebook.



A couple of high school playoff games  have been rescheduled.

The Fort Frances Muskies boys hockey team will now begin a NorWossa series with Dryden Sunday in Dryden.

Game 2 will be played Monday night at 7 p.m. at the Ice for Kids Arena with game 3, if necessary planned for Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m.

The International Falls Broncos boys hockey team's semi-final game against Hermantown scheduled for last night has been moved to tonight.



Another cancellation of a playoff game involving the Fort Frances Muskies.

The girls team was supposed to begin a series with Kenora tonight.

Alternative schedules are still being worked out.
