Local Sports For Friday March 7

The first ever regional championship for AA midget teams in the northwestern Ontario gets underway this afternoon in Fort Frances.

Six teams, including the Fort Frances Canadians, are taking part.

Play kicks off at 3:15 p.m. today with St. Thomas Aquinas facing Thunder Bay's Volunteer Pool Bearcats.

The Canadians first game is tonight at 7:15 p.m. at the Memorial Sports Centre against the West End Bruins.
